In 1944, Guignard gets in Belo Horizonte brought by the current Mayor Juscelino Kubitschek in order to run the School of Fine Arts. In his book “Historical Memory of Escola Guignard”, Anônio Moura affirms that many were the difficulties concerning the implantation of a Modernist School., but alberto da veiga guignard embraced wide educational liberalism with extraordinary artistic knowledge, which was in itself enough to fill an infrastructural gap on the then called Fine Arts field.
This educational liberalism provided to the Society of Belo Horizonte a historic cultural lap, allowing great evolution of aesthetic conceptions. The art courses managed by the school, at this historic moment, meant a cultural movement and a new artistic conception inside the aesthetical patterns of that time. Guignard worried about the aesthetic quality of his students, providing them the human projection which revealed a new vision on their potential and individual discoveries.
